to its patrons. Librarians are always available to help you locate information in
print, audio/visual and digital formats.

periodical and newspaper databases; e-books; interlibrary loan privileges; adult and youth
programming; homebound services; videos; music CDs; books on CD,
DVD's, large print books; genealogy tools...and much, much more!

Microsoft Office is
available on all public access computers. Contact the Information Department at

Local History &
Genealogy
The local history
collection provides historical information about Victoria and the
surrounding contiguous counties (Calhoun, Dewitt, Goliad, Jackson,
Lavaca and Refugio). The genealogy collection emphasizes material
for Texas, the primary migration states, and migration counties to
Texas. Patrons can access genealogy databases such as
Ancestry Library Edition
and
HeritageQuest via the Internet terminals.
Tours & Programs
The Information Department Librarians are happy to
provide tours and/or presentations to your group at either the library or at your
meeting. Contact the Information Department at (361) 572-2702 to make arrangements.
Interlibrary
Loan
Patrons with a valid Victoria Public Library card
may borrow books and articles not available at the Victoria Public Library. The
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is usually free and patrons may request an ILL in the
Library, by telephone at (361) 485-3308, or by
email.
It may take a few weeks to receive the material borrowed through Interlibrary
Loan.
Resources for the
Visually Impaired
A Kurzweil reading machine and Visualtek are
available for use while in the library, please ask at the Information desk for assistance
with these devices. If you need a magnifying glass, there is one available at all
service desks, The library also has an excellent collection of large print books and
books on tape.
Homebound
Books-By-Mail Program
Our Homebound Books-By-Mail Program
provides books and other library materials by mail for free to eligible homebound
residents of Victoria County. A certification of eligibility, a short application
and a library card are all that is required to participate. Contact the Homebound
