City of Victoria Municipal Court clerk Tara Tinney and Victoria Police Department Officer Mia Gallegos were recently certified as child passenger safety (CPS) technicians after completing a four-day training in Uvalde hosted by the Texas Department of State Health Services Safe Riders Child Passenger Safety Program.
The CPS technician certification is a nationally recognized affirmation that an individual is qualified to educate caregivers about proper installation and use of children’s car seats and booster seats. The employees were also required to pass written exams and hands-on skills assessments to be certified.
