Victoria residents who’d like to get involved in local government leadership can apply to run for City Council starting Jan. 17.
Residents can apply to run for any of the four regular City Council district seats (districts 1, 2, 3 and 4).
The election, which is separate from the mayoral special election, will be May 4. Candidates will be elected to three-year terms that expire in May 2027.

The City of Victoria will host an informational session 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 6 at the City Council chambers, 107 W. Juan Linn St., to give interested applicants an opportunity to learn more about the duties of a City Council member.
Attendance is encouraged but not required.

Applications for candidacy are available at the City Secretary’s Office in City Hall, 105 W. Juan Linn St., or online at www.victoriatx.gov/city-secretary.
The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is 5 p.m. Feb. 16.
