PHOTO: The City of Victoria is partnering with Aqua-Metrics to replace residents’ water meters, like the one shown here, and their component parts as needed.
The City of Victoria will replace 1,700 residential water meters over the next two months starting March 25.
The project is part of a new City effort to replace water meters on a more regular basis. This intentional maintenance program will keep the meters running smoothly as parts wear out over time.
Aqua-Metrics is the contractor for this project, and LPM is the subcontractor.
What to expect
Customers may experience brief interruptions to their water service, lasting 10 to 30 minutes, while the meters are being installed.
Installations will take place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The subcontractor will knock on residents’ doors to notify them before water service is interrupted.
If no one is home, the subcontractor will check the meter to determine whether the household is currently using any water. If water is being used, the subcontractor will wait to perform the installation.
