The Victoria Police Department has partnered with the Victoria Police Foundation to host the first “Foot Pursuit 5K and Donut Dash,” an opportunity to connect with local officers and the VPD’s SWAT members, 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. May 18 at De Leon Plaza.
The event is part of National Police Week, a weeklong observance dedicated to honoring law enforcement officers, especially those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
The Foot Pursuit 5K will begin at 7:30 a.m. Then, starting around 9 a.m., children ages 5 to 11 will team up with SWAT members to compete in the Donut Dash relay race.
Children must be accompanied by a guardian for the entire event. Refreshments will be provided.
Register for the event
Participants must register in advance at www.victoriatx.gov/footpursuit-donutdash or in person 6:30-7:15 a.m. May 18 at De Leon Plaza.
Early registration for the Foot Pursuit 5K is $35 and ends May 11. Late registration is $45 and ends May 18. Participants will receive a T-shirt and swag kit.
Donut Dash registration is $15 per child and includes an honorary donut badge.
Proceeds will benefit the Victoria Police Foundation.
