PHOTO: The Josh Abbott Band takes the stage during the second day of Tejas Fest. Discover Victoria Texas hosted the City’s first-ever Tejas Fest Oct. 4-5 in downtown Victoria. The new community festival is a reflection of Victoria’s new tourism slogan, “True to Tejas,” and featured country and Tejano artists, with Bobby Pulido as the headliner on Friday and the Josh Abbott Band as the headliner on Saturday. The two-day festival also included 17 food vendors; a vendor market hosted by Mother Cluckers Downtown with more than 50 vendors; a car show hosted by Hot Rod Tour of Texas, which featured 62 vehicles; armadillo races; lucha libre; inflatables; a cornhole tournament that drew 23 teams; a petting zoo; a tamale eating contest; a margarita contest; and performances by VISD’s Ballet Folklorico, magician John O’Bryant and Mariachi Nuevo Victoria.
