[ARCHIVED] Friends of the Library to offer books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs at sale

Victoria residents can come to the Victoria Public Library for bargain-priced books and more next week as the Friends of the Library hosts its first book sale of the year.

The book sale will be in the library’s Bronte Room, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 (the library will close early at 5 p.m. for Martin Luther King Jr. Day); 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 17, 19 and 20 (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday); 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18; and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 21.

A members-only sale will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15

Memberships cost $10 per year and can be renewed at the Victoria Public Library.

Gently used books of all genres, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs will be available, with items costing $1-2. Payments must be made by cash or check; cards will not be accepted. Thursday-Saturday, all items will be half price.

Friday and Saturday, residents can pay $1 to fill their Friends of the Library tote bags with as many items as they can carry. Residents can refill their tote bags for $1 as many times as they want. Tote bags can be purchased from the library for $7 and can be used at future sales.

Proceeds from the sale will fund event programming for children and adults at the library.
